So today, as usual after putting Alexander to bed for the morning, I sit infront of the computer with a cup of tea and whatever I have in hand (today it was some cereal and milk). As usual I end up going to www.aftonbladet.se to see what's up with the world through a media covered glass (that is, take alot of the things written with a grain or 5 of salt. )
I read an article about the world's greatest movie, another article that needs to be taken with common sense and grain of salts. Seeing how you know, the taste is like your ass, divided. (fast translation: we're all diffrent people with diffrent tastes in things.)
So a certain special movie climbed the list after 15 years of nearly being unknown, it killed the godfather's #1 spot.
The Shawshanks redemption.
However, as I do love this movie, I've no idea what it was called in Swedish earlier, I've been recommended this movie several times (before my husband made me see it) but couldn't find it anywhere (renting, sweden etc)
In this article, which is naturally in swedish, they translated the title to "The Key to freedom" (Nyckeln till frihet). WTF? What kind of bad translation is that?
It sounds like a really shitty movie that could be shown on Hallmark. Fuck that noise.
As for my own personal opinion on the Shawshanks Redemption. Oh god I love it. I love it.
It's a great movie in my opinion, it builds up characters and holds the agenda hidden till last. It's nice and the little highlights of humanity makes me appriciate the movie more.
On to next topic.. my new-old Obsession.
Every day that passes, I get a little bit more in love with Vocaloid 2. I hope they will release more songs and characters soon, I really would love to find more albums than just Miku's first vocal album.
My current favorite song of the moment is: Dark woods circus.
It's really bizarre and awesome!
Story around it (the way I see it): It's a mysterious circus in the dark woods, it lures and attracts a few chosen visitors who comes to see it and never leaves. A freak show ala victorian era, even.
A woman who's very deformed.
A man who eats his food cold (body parts)
A body with two heads
two giants and a demonic like director.
As the song goes on, the diffrent characters sings how they feel about being there.
It's sad and bizarre. I love it :D
The style is pretty nice too!

Annoyance
Is it really so bad that most of the household falls apart whenever I'm sick?
family depend on me so much that I can't take a day off before there's a huge pile of dishes that needs to be done, kids that needs to be activated and general restlessness?
I've barely functioned today because:
Head stuffed both with snot and general stuffiness, making everything hazy and headachy.
Ears keep blocking themselves, making it hard to hear.
No voice and a hurty throat.
Hard to concentrate and general achiness all over.
Seems like people actually expected for me to be able to think and concentrate too, kind of irked me a little bit. I'm sick.
I AM SICK.
I don't feel good. I feel like shit and if I could choose, I'd shut myself into the bedroom and not come out until I felt like a person again.
I'm problaby expecting a mountain of dishes monday to come, picking up slack from when I was sick...
It's a never ending job which I'm not ever allowed to take a day off (or so it seems).
Even writing this post I have to think a little bit extra, spelling, writing in general and grammar.
Annoyance.
Atleast I got a little bit done while being sick, though I had to bribe my step-kids to clean up the livingroom for drawing on colored paper with crayons.
Would this have happen if I weren't saying anything at all?
pffff..

The Apartment
So we went to check this apartment out.
Yuck.
Deep soft long haired carpet all over the apartment except for the bathroom and the kitchen. I just hate those disgusting things, makes me think of all the dust mites and bugs running around in them. Do not want.
It was okay'ish, kind of small and broken...
So yeah. I see no reason for us to move just yet.
been sitting down today whenever the chance given to me and played around with Open Canvas (oC)
I ended up making Black Rock Shooter (Vocaloid 2 song.)

A little sloppy but it feels like I haven't drawn in forever, even less playing with my wacom.
October is getting closer by the day... hrhrh Captain Obvious.
I think October and July is my fear months. That's when everyone, everybody and their grandmother and pets have their birthday.
This October we are celebrating my half-sister, JenJen, The twin boys, my husband and son, another friend, some aunts.. aye.. x_x
During July I have a train of friends having birthdays after another, it's scary and sometimes I mess up remembering who's birthday is on which day.
Waiting for the clock to hit 5 so husband-man-meat will get off work, come pick me and Alexander up and go to Walmart and shop a month worth of stuff and food or so, along with some birthday presents to the kids (Alexander and the twins). I'm going to check out some food coloring as well for the cake I'm making whenever we are celebrating the boys.
Planning, so far, on making a colorful carrot cake. Yum yum.
We also need to stop by Staples and pick up some rough colored paper for me (need one that's got a rough surface and lots of rough fibers so I can use a white colored pen on it)
I'm still down with next to no voice and an annoying cough. Add on a small headache, at least those are easy to fix by popping some painkillers.
Alexander was extra cranky today, he skipped his first nap because we went to check on the other apartment. I ended up not being able to exercise this morning because of this. Ugh. I feel behind on schedule. x_x
Oh well, I can skip half a day, right?
...
right?
Yuck.

Reflections
Dear Diary
This is the third day where my hand/wrist/arm hurts and are still swollen.
The last time I even touched a pencil was last sunday when I was finishing the tattoo comission I was comissioned.
It turned okay as an art piece and shit as a tattoo. My client was, however, very happy with the result.
All to each of their own. I don't really like dealing with people, even less clients who are wishy-washy on what they want, especially if they want to cram in a million things in a piece.
It's a countdown to my kid's first birthday.
To me it symbolizes alot of things..
1) I managed to keep a baby/newborn/infant/toddler safe and secure, fed and clean for over a year. I'm a good mom and mother.
2) He's not my little helpless baby anymore.
He's gone from utterly helpless, sleeping every 20 minutes to staying up for 6 hours straight, playing and being social, talking and now trying to walk.
It's an amazing process to watch, you learn almost as much as he does, every new thing he figures out is a huge victory.
You've gone from no normal motor skills to learning all that's socially acceptable (well, still learning the meaning of no here)
He used to communicate in forms of cooing (like a bird, yes) and crying to now, where he calls me by my name "mamma"
It's just utterly impressive and amazing, not to mention his growth spurts. From a tiny being who couldn't even hold a flower in his hand to this strong toddler who would no doubt, tear up our house plants.
He's my big beautiful boy son.
Only today when we were having breakfast:
I was drinking my regular morning tea, having sandwiches on the side while he sat in his walker
eating buttered bread, drinking juice and holding conversations with me (in his own baby lingo, but still wanted me to listen and respond, no less).
He acted older than what he is.
I reflect a bit on these things, I look back and smile with a nostalgic kind of feeling surrounding me.
Certain days drove me insane and nuts, the summer we had was pure hell and getting up in the middle of the night to feed him or calm his crying was not always very pleasant.
He rarely do any of these now, he's a big boy. It all went by like a flash, even though it felt like it was never going to end. It's weird how it works out.
I'm curious to see what kind of person he will grow up to be with the help of me and my husband.
What I really would like to do though, I would like to take him home to the motherland (Mother Svea ;p ) and show him around.
He'd get to meet my friends and our relatives, he'd get to see his grandfather, my grandma etc.
The only one from my side of the family that's seen him is my mom and my step-sister.
...
Told you I was going to end up writing about my kid!
Anyway, I've got a slight fever today and no voice, hopefully I will perk up around evening to come, I really want to go and take a look at a new prospect apartment.
If it looks better than this place, we'll probably go for it!
Sucks so bad. Seems like my old non-existent immunity system came back.
Sucks. Since I got pregnant and had a baby, I had a immunity system of steel! it's gone now ._.
One quick look over the apartment, it needs a clean up. Bad.
there are kid and baby toys all over the place, everything looks misplaced as well, as Alexander is learning how to walk and tear everything down within a hand's distance.
I think I'll stop here. :O
To all that's reading this blog (hrhr)
Have an excellent day/evening.

The birth of my blog
It came out all slimey, pink and nasty, just like any other new born!
Problaby screaming as well!
What kind of introduction is this?!
I'm a Sweden-born housewife living in the United States of America, caring for my almost 1 year old and almost 28 year old.
I guess I'll blog about the differences in USA and Sweden alltogether, most likely alot about my kid as well.
I can tell you guys now, I'm a bad blogger! BAD. I'm bad at keeping up with updates but problaby will for awhile in the beginning. Here's to hoping! A lazy attempt to keep my friends and relatives that lives so far away from me a little bit of insight in my current life whenever they don't feel like talking to me through email/messenger/phone but still curious on what's going on.
Enjoy. This is the first entry.
I'll most likely write more within a near future, however, I have pictures from my camera to upload and then edit around a bit with this blog and see if I can find a nicer template than this pink and rose colored one.
Cheers.
